Do’s and Don’ts
Here is a brief list of actions the parolee should follow if he is picked up on a blue warrant/parole violation allegation:
Do
- Be respectful
- Confirm your identity to the arresting officer
- Call your parole attorney right away
- Plan to turn yourself in (after talking to your parole attorney) if you become aware that a blue warrant has been issued for you
Don't
- Run or hide, or attempt to run or hide
- Resist, or give the arresting officer any reason to sense or suspect that you are resisting arrest
- Answer any questions beyond confirming your identity; anything you say can and may be used against you
- Panic, there is a revocation process that must be followed by law, so there is hope
- Try to go it alone without a parole attorney
